Welcome to Mind Ruffle

It's official. Mind Ruffle is the new name of my ETSY shop, formerly known as Heart Jewlery. When ETSY announced that they were going to revamped their site, I knew it was my chance to change thing up for my shop, which was formerly misspelled - EPIC FAIL

Now, I bring to you Mind Ruffle. My new expression, and I look forward to getting to know you!

With curiosity we peek,
and ruffle minds, or so to speak,
explore the wrinkles of our mind
to create the image of our rind.

DIY Country Birdfeeder for Your Garden

Country Birdfeeder
I created this for my mom while visiting in North Carolina. With some simple stippling and basic shapes I created a pop of color that gave her garden a more welcoming feel.

What you'll need:
(1) Metal Water Bucket
(1) Package of Painters Markers
(1) Bag of bird seed

Step 1: Clean the bucket, and dry
Step 2: Use Painters to draw your design, and let dry
Step 3: Add seeds

Enjoy your weekend!

Yak Attack Video

Greetings ya'll,

I'm in North Carolina this week, in between all the chocolate dipped cheese cake, cornbread, and grits, I've found some time to do a little sightseeing. Take a look through my eyes, and the Kodak PlayFull Video Camera, in this video:

Flower Pen Project

Flower pens are fun to use and easy to make. I like to give them out on randome holidays; these are the ones I made last St.Patrick's Day. They're also great for a bridal shower, fundraisers, birthday parties, and more.

Here's what you'll need to make your own:
 - Artificial Flowers
 - Floral Tape
 - Wire Cutters
 - Any Color Pens

Extend the flower across the length of the pen. Make sure the bottom of the pen is touching the lower petals of the flower. Then trim it to be about 1cm shorter than the length of the pen.

Secure the flower onto the pen by wrapping them together with floral tape. Be sure that the sticky side of the floral tape is facedown. Wrap it tightly around 2 to 3 times, be sure that they will not come apart.

Then, starting about 1 cm above the tip of the pen, wrap the floral tape around at a slight angle. At this angle, you will be able to continue up the pen until you reach the top. At this point, you can cut the floral tape and wrap any excess around the pen.

> Now, you can write with your new creation, or

put your flower pens into a vase to place on your < desk.

Fly Away Earrings

Good day Craftisseurs,

We have a new addition to the Heart Jewlery shop today: Dangling Dragonfly Earrings. I came aross these little buggers at the grocery store, as floral picks, and I just knew that they had another life intended for them. So, I repurposed them into earrings with some gold colored findings I had in my inventory. They are pretty, simple, expressive, and very dangly; so I'm willing to adjust the length based on your needs.
